“A Creole Christmas in Covington” with Don Vappie
The City of Covington is delighted to invite the public to a FREE holiday concert featuring internationally renowned musical artist, Don Vappie, on Sunday, December 20th, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Fuhrmann Auditorium in the Greater Covington Center, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue. “A Creole Christmas in Covington” featuring Don Vappie & Friends promises to add to your holiday joy and spirit, along with the City’s introduction of their 2016 plans for an inaugural Cultural Season at the Fuhrmann –OnSTAGE in Covington!
“We’ve considered establishing a cultural season at the Fuhrmann Theatre for quite some time, wanting to complement the quality local theatre we are so fortunate to have in our community, by bringing in the additional component of touring theatrical entertainment. I’m enthusiastic about our upcoming year and tremendously excited that we will be unveiling OnSTAGE in Covington with just enough time for everyone to seize the perfect last minute stocking stuffer - an OnSTAGE in Covington Season Passport,” Pam Keller, Special Projects - Executive Assistant to Mayor Mike Cooper.
Seating for “A Creole Christmas in Covington” featuring Don Vappie & Friends is limited to an audience of 450. The concert is FREE and open to all age groups. Due to the capacity of seating in the Fuhrmann, tickets will be necessary to ensure seat availability, however, seats will not be reserved. Advance FREE tickets are available for pickup at the Covington Trailhead Office, 419 N. New Hampshire Street, and Covington City Hall, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue, at the Receptionist’s Desk, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday, beginning Monday, December 7th, while supplies last.
Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, December 20th; your FREE tickets ensure general seat availability only (there are no reserved seats; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.) There will be an “At Door” line for anyone who did not pick up an advance FREE ticket. Beginning at 3:50 p.m., any remaining seats will be released to those in line.
