BRIDGE CLOSURE - W. 25TH AT MILE BRANCH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BEGINS SEPTEMBER 14TH

The rehabilitation of a local bridge which crosses Mile Branch has begun.   A section of W. 25th Avenue between N. Taylor Street and N. Pierce Street will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic until the rehab project is complete. Those who use this route to get to and from Pine View Middle School should utilize alternate routes, including  W. 21st Avenue and W. 23rd Avenue to N. Buchanan Street.

The W. 25th Avenue Bridge Improvement Project was bid earlier this year.  The City received three bids with the lowest bidder being Stranco LLC in the amount of $130,319.60.

The scheduled work consists of replacement of bulkheads and wing walls on the existing timber bent bridge, and the installation of new bulkheads, wing walls, tie-back piles, and other incidental work.

Stranco was issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP) with a project start date of Monday, September 14, 2015. The construction contract requires that the project be substantially complete within 90 days of the NTP.

Stranco expects to mobilize onto the job site next week dependent on weather.
