Invitations to Bid, Requests for Proposals, and Requests for Qualifications will be posted on the city's website and in the official journal of the city, the St. Tammany Farmer newspaper, for a period of three consecutive weeks. They will be advertised at least 25 days prior to the bid opening due date. The bids packets, including specification and plans are available for public inspection at the City of Covington, City Engineer's Office. If you wish to bid on a project, an original set of plans and specifications must be obtained from Covington City Hall, City Engineer's Office, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue, (985) 892-1811. Generally, there is a fee for the bid packets, variable depending on the project. This payment is refundable to bonafide bidders returning the Documents in good condition within ten (10) days after the Opening of Bids.
All formal sealed bids are opened publicly at the designated bid opening time, date, and place, as specified in the documents, and become a matter of public record. Everyone is welcome to attend the bid openings at the date and time specified in the documents.
All bids and proposals received after the designated bid opening time will not be considered and will be returned unopened.
Upon execution of a professional service contract by the Mayor for any service other than legal, the contract shall be posted on the City of Covington website and a copy submitted to the clerk of the council.
